Victoria, Hong Kong. The Treasury, 18th October 1848:
The Earl Grey.
In J. & Davis.
Received No 24.
Purchase of site sent the Building for a Court House- 18th November 1867, authorizing
Replying to Despatch No 10126 of 18th October.
Drafts on Public Chest from Notes from 1844 to 1847, and Statement of Palianatay from 1828-
It has apparently been considered to support the view taken by this present Government.
I do not perceive that any question regarding Guernsey affairs affects Celery, & might therefore be sent to Treasury for further information.

Hong Kong. 584, 599, 810 and 803.
These despatches, which I have examined to-day by Mr Hawes's desire, appear to me to warrant some reduction in the Estimate, besides throwing additional light on the defects in the Hong Kong system of accounts, which have already been discussed here and brought to Sir Bonham's notice.
A balance sheet is at length furnished (for the first time) - but the Consular and Colonial Accounts are not kept so entirely distinct as they should be. One single balance is brought forward from 1846 and carried on to 1848, without being divided.
